These headphones were the first noise cancellers that I ever bought for myself. I have fond memories of looking through the budget active noise cancelling headphones on Amazon and reading through countless reviews. I ultimately decided on these ones because I thought they looked like they would also have good passive noise cancelling as well.
For the uninitiated, passive noise cancelling basically means that the headphones are tight enough that they block out some sound, and active noise cancelling means you flip a switch and block some sounds past a certain frequency. I knew that I wanted a solid mix of both for my first pair, to better understand what I liked.
The MPOWs have a seriously strong active noise cancelling switch. They last a very long time on a charge. They clamp down pretty hard, so for people who don’t like the feeling of something strongly on your ears this might not be for you. I wore these daily for about six months, at which point the headband snapped.
That’s the one major downside of these headphones-for all their great tech specs, the actual construction isn’t the greatest. I re-bought these a handful of times before I started to look elsewhere.
